Mary Bacon
November 29, 1932 - November 3, 2021
Tribute
Mary Bacon passed away at her home in Powell River, BC, after a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Elizabeth, whose personal sacrifice to care for Mary allowed her to die at home; daughter, Sarah; son, Matthew; six beautiful grandchildren, Nicole, Caroline, Abigail, Lauren, Katelyn, and Nathan; and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Harrison, and Henry.
Born in Nuneaton, England, in 1932, Mary studied to be a concert pianist and worked in public libraries, where she met Bryan, the love of her life. Mary, Bryan, Sarah, and Elizabeth emigrated to Canada in 1965. Matt came later.
Mary graduated from Simon Fraser University with a B.A. in Psychology; she worked at B.C.I.T. in
publications until her retirement.
Mary was an avid gardener, a passion passed on to her children. She had fond memories of her time in Mission, BC, where she lived for most of her retirement, and she always spoke of England as home. The family extends special thanks to the wonderful home care nurses of Vancouver Coastal Health.

Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world”

Dear Elizabeth, Sarah and Matthew
Your mother was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. To evoke her memory is to open thoughts of happy times and good fellowship. Soon after your parents arrived from England we attracted your dad to Burnaby Public Library. Judy and I shared many wonderful evenings with your parents over a period of many years.
As a family you were certainly blessed to have such a bright, good humoured and loving mother. May she rest in peace as she is so deserving of a heavenly reward.
