Mildred Anne Waghorn
August 6, 1932 - July 6, 2018
Tribute
Mildred (Anne) Waghorn August 6, 1932 – July 6, 2018 It is with tremendous sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful, generous and loving mom, wife and grandma. Anne (née Cates) was born in North Vancouver on August 6, 1932, to John and Carrie Cates. Married to Terry on June 25, 1952, they spent most of their life on the North Shore. They retired to Powell River to be closer to family in 1994 and what a blessing that was for us all. She loved her home and friends in Powell River, volunteering at the Stroke Club and spent many happy years here, especially “Up the lake.” Anne is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Terry, her son Steve (Jill), daughters Mary-Kay (Kevin) and Nancy (Gary) and her adoring grandchildren Nathan (Cigdem), Marissa (Chad), Jeremy, Megan and Clare. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Morwood, Powell River General Hospital staff, and Paulin Vella for the wonderful care of Mom. A celebration of life will be held in Powell River at a later date. All who loved her will be welcomed. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Powell River Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated. She will be forever missed, forever loved.
