Mildred “Faye” Cameron (née Culley) October 4, 1951 – January 16, 2019 Faye Cameron left us on her last journey, after a near two-year battle with ovarian cancer, at the age of 67. She died peacefully at Powell River General Hospital with family at her side. Faye was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and moved with her parents to Powell River when she was six weeks old. She grew up on Fernwood Avenue and attended Edgehill Elementary School, then graduated from Max Cameron. At 19, she began work at the Bank of Montreal, where she worked for 36 years. Faye was a world traveler and experienced many adventures at the side of her husband, Joe. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as a hot cup of tea, a well-tended garden, nature walks and summer barbecues with family and friends. Faye will be greatly missed by her husband of 46 years Joseph Cameron; her children Leah (Paul) King and Michael (Alice) Cameron; grandchildren Alexis and Cassandra King, Peter Cameron and Adam O’Grady; and sisters Lorraine (Jim) Bruckshaw and Donna Gowans. She will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in Powell River at 1 pm on Saturday, January 26, at St. David and St. Paul Anglican Church; tea to follow in the church hall. Memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
