Monice Elizabeth O''neil

June 2, 1961 - December 8, 2012

Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monice. After a courageous four-year battle with cancer, she passed peacefully on December 8 at Powell River General Hospital.

Monice leaves her four children Jamie, Lindsay, Cheyenne and Joshua, along with her husband Stephen O'Neil. She was loved deeply by her mother Valerie Herrington, father Lloyd Herrington (Sue Andrews), brothers Dale and Ken Herrington and sister Tami Dube, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her mother’s partner Jim Jess.

Mo. You've touched us all in ways we couldn't possibly express in words. We'll all miss you terribly, but know we will be together again.

From: Shari Zindler
Relation: Fraser Valley Cancer Centre

My deepest and heartfelt sympathies are with Monice’s family, and her beautiful children. All I ever wanted to do was to encourage her in her journey with cancer, as her battle was much more fierce than mine. I prayed that she would find peace in the midst of everything, and be able to stand firm in her faith. Meeting her at the Fraser Valley Cancer Center, going for a wonderful dinner, then sitting with her while she had chemo was an honor for me. She inspired me with her devotion to her children, and I enjoyed seeing (on facebook) all the beautiful memories and adventures she created with them even as she faced leaving them behind. She lived life to the fullest as long as she could with her kids, and that was an inspiration to me. My heart breaks for her dear children, and there are many that are praying for comfort for all of you. With love and prayers, Shari Zindler.

From: Catherine Morris
Relation: Friend, sister in Christ

I didn’t know Monice well, but from the moment I met her in January 2012 at Evangel Church there was a deep bond of love and sisterhood between us. She was an exquisitely beautiful woman in every way and even though I am older that she was when she passed, I pray that I can grow up n Christ to be just like her. Her faith in God and her love for her family touched my heart very deeply.

To Steve and the children, I pray that you will know the love and compassion of our Saviour and the God of All Comfort as you grieve the loss of wife and mom. She was irreplacable.

And to all of Monice’s family members I pray the same. May God give you peace and may you know His comfort in this time of mourning.

With love and prayers,
Catherine Morris
