Olga Pampu

February 9, 1918 - March 1, 2018

Mrs. Olga Pampu, (nee Chuhaniuk) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Evergreen Extended Care facility, Powell River BC, on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Olga was born February 9, 1918 in Krydor Saskatchewan, the third of four daughters of Mike and Mary Chuhaniuk. She married Elie Pampu October 28, 1934, and homesteaded near Martins Lake.

Thirteen years later they left the homestead and moved to Port Arthur, Ontario.  They started to study the bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicated their lives to serving Jehovah on March 10, 1949.  Elie and Olga’s steadfast faith greatly influenced many in their family to follow their examples in serving Jehovah.

After 31 years in Port Arthur, they chose Powell River to retire and be closer to family.  Having her family together, and family suppers were Olga’s favorite times.

Olga was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, by her husband Elie of 66 years. Her son Clarence Alfred, his wife Dureen and their son Karl.  By her son Arthur (Nancy), and granddaughter Marla.

She is survived by an older sister, Anne at 102 years, Son Gary (Margaret), Grandchildren Deborah (Greg), Cindy (Ron), Cheryle, Jay (Donna), James (Shebby), Chad (Paula), Gloria, Allen, Genness, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their kind words and support. To those who visited Olga regularly from the Power Lake and South Congregations.  A special ‘thank-you’ to Dr. Marentette, and the Evergreen Extended Care facilities for their kindness, compassion, and professional care.
