Tribute
Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which we always used. Put no difference into your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without an effort, without a trace of shadow in it.
Life means all that it ever meant; it is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere near, just around the corner. All is well.
Pamela is survived by her son John Gates and three grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

It is with great sadness to hear of of the passing of Great Aunty Pam, aka Vera. I will miss our chats at all hours of the night when you called me here in Melbourne Australia without looking at the timezones, and will miss hearing your stories of feeding the local wild bears and your cheeky conversations with the local constabulary. Grandma and grandpa always spoke highly of you, and I’m glad you can be together with them once again. You deserved better in life than you were dealt, I will miss you my friend.
