Patricia Irene Anderson

Tribute
Born in Winnipeg Manitoba, Pat (Paddy) spent most of her life living in the Vancouver area. She was predeceased by her infant son Dale and both parents, William Patrick Cross and Irene June Young. Pat is survived by her Daughter Susan Gullette (Kelly Bruce) and Sons Brian and Scott, her Brother Ken Cross (Shawn) and Sister Katie Campo. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, numerous close cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends.
Pat loved to reminisce about various Reno trips taken with her own mom, frequent Bingo games and of her love for the Horse Race track. As a smoker she often made new friends in the designated smoking areas! In later years she enjoyed online Scrabble games among others with her friends and various family members.
Pat moved to Powell River September 2018 to live with Susan & Kelly, and while she was no longer able to communicate via the computer, she spoke often of her family & friends, enjoyed her lottery, old TV programs and Jeopardy, closely following Alex Trebek. We eventually discovered the TV music oldies channel which she often listened to as she slept.
In September 2019 Pat was no longer able to be cared for at home and moved into ECU where she was well cared for and liked by various staff including care aids and nurses. They enjoyed her wit and sense of humour, turned her music on, kept a warm blanket ready and topped up her endless supply of ‘warm’ ginger ale.
In remembrance of Pat we urge family & friends to go out for fish and chips or Chinese food, head to the Casino or Race track, have a cup of regular coffee and play the lottery or scratch some ‘scratchees’. She would have liked that!

Susan, so sorry for you loss. Your mom was such a trooper and I’m sure you will miss her lots… but remember the good times and it will keep her memory alive forever. It’s never easy…. She is out of pain now. This afternoon I made myself a regular black coffee.
