Born and raised in Canada”s Motor City (Oshawa, Ontario) Patricia Hughes was a funny, intelligent and fiercely selfreliant woman who raised her children to be the same. Her life was one of constant struggle, but she faced her physical challenges with a lion”s courage and determined stoicism that amazed us all. Patricia was an advocate of common sense and showed us how a questioning, inquisitive approach to life would yield a true understanding of most things. She was fragile on the outside, but tough as nails within. We will never forget her generous heart.
Patricia is survived by her mother Gwen, brother Rob, son Ian, daughter Jillian and her grandson Mac.
No memorial will be held, although a small donation to the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
