Tribute
Phil passed away suddenly into the arms of the Lord in Powell River. He was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba and spent his growing years in Russell, Manitoba. Phil was predeceased by his sisters Cecilia Culos and Margaret Satermo and his first wife Mona. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Antoinette, son George (Linda), daughters Del (Brian) and Monica (David) as well as six grandchildren. Phil is also survived by four stepchildren Margaret (Grant) Colman, Joan (Rick) Allen, Ken Folliet, Monique (Bill) Clutterbuck, nine stepgrandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Phil was a veteran of the Second World War and served overseas in Italy. In 1954 he married Mona Texmo and moved to Powell River where he raised his family and worked in the mill until his retirement. He was a 59-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was very dedicated to his family and to his faith. We will miss this wonderful, kind and thoughtful man with his great sense of humour and wit.
Special thanks to the wonderful medical response team and my neighbours for their help and thoughtfulness.
