Tribute
It is with great Sadness we announce the passing of Richard (Rick) Wayne De Vito on May 31, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.
Wife Christy, son Richard (Erin), daughter Darlana (Colin), stepsons Duane and Jerry, grandchildren Dustin, Jesse, Madison, Connor and Teagan, brother Dennis, and sisters Gina and Wendy will miss him dearly from our lives.
Rick was born May 28, 1947 to Gino and Olga (Johnson) De Vito in Powell River. He had a great talent to build with a creative mind: boats, houses, whatever he desired or required. Beginning in 1979, with his pride and joy, the Pacific Charm, he fished the gulf for many years. With great work ethics, strength and leadership, he continued carpentry and boat building until retirement. His kind heart and warm hugs will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 1 pm at Powell River United Church, 6932 Crofton Street. Internment will follow at Cranberry Cemetery, then a celebration of life at 2:30 pm at Carlson Community Club. To all the wonderful people who reached out to us with love, thank you
