Robert Main
April 28, 1945 - September 5, 2026
Tribute
Robert Main slipped quietly from his life on earth after an extended period of illness.
Robert was born and educated in England. He lived in Switzerland and the Netherlands before immigrating to BC in 1969. He worked for many years in engineering drafting, retired from that to become a full-time musician. An inventive pianist and organist, his passion was liturgical choral music, and he was a chorister in several churches, especially at St. Barnabas in Victoria.
Robert first came to Powell River in 1991 for the hiking; he and Hannah quickly decided they wanted to retire here, and did.
Grateful to be a Canadian citizen, he loved living here on the coast. He loved art, dogs, rugby, and fast, old European cars.
Robert was an only child. He leaves behind his wife Hannah Main (van der Kamp) and her large extended clan of which he was a loved member.
Robert was a thoughtful, generous, prayerful man. He died in the Peace of Christ.
“O Praise the Lord! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
