Tribute
It is with sadness I announce the passing of my beloved husband Roly Demeester.
Roly is survived by his wife Cindy (Cynthia), mother Dina, predeceased by his father Valere. 4 children Aaron, Nathan (Tera), Issac (Sarah), Katie (Matt), 2 step children Jessica (Clark), Josh (Jennifer) and 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his 3 brothers John, Dennis (Linne) and George (Julie) as well as many nieces & nephews.
Roly was born in Belgium and came to Canada as a young child with his parents. He grew up in St. Thomas, Ontario. As an adult he lived in several places in Ontario.
In 2006 Cindy and Roly undertook the adventure of moving to Powell River, BC. Driving across Canada in their old yellow school bus was an unforgettable experience.
Roly loved music, fishing, hunting and working on the farm. He was always quick with a smile and a laugh for all that he met. It wasn’t unusual for Roly to befriend people he met while he fished. He would often invite them home for a supper of goat or rabbit. These people all became life long friends.
Many thanks to the staff at Evergreen Extended Care Unit and Dr. Martin Andrea for providing such compassionate care.
The hospice team at Evergreen deserve a special thanks for their wonderful help during his last days.
I also wish to thank our many friends who provided such amazing support to both of us during this difficult time.
By request there will be no service.

Relation: Friend
Roly was a wonderful friend for many years. We got out fishing loads of times and he always had great stories to share. Often we’d meet up at our mutual friend’s place on a Friday afternoon, where we’d sit on the porch and solve the world problems over a beer. The memories of wonderful rabbit, goat or chicken dinners at Nimh Farm will not be forgotten, and neither will Roly.

So sorry for your loss.

Relation: Friend and neighbor
Roly was a wonderful friend and a fishing buddy. For years we would meet on a mutual friends porch for Friday afternoon chats. He was a warm-hearted, generous soul. We traveled to Mexico a few times where we had a fun playing music with other travelers. He was an amigo and will be remembered fondly.
