Tribute

On August 5, 2022, our much-loved Yorkshire rose Sheila Hodgson died. She was the wife of David for 63 years. It was a peaceful release from her many years of physical and mental deterioration. Some people may have known her as a marriage commissioner, funeral celebrant, alderman (counselor), or even the woman who gave such welcoming hugs to strangers and all who came to church. Yes, she did all of that and so much more. She was the loving and oh so caring mother of Mark, Michelle, Pauline and sons-in-law Rick and Tom, and the unconditional loving grandmother of Phillip, Austin, Christian, Rachel, Cameron and Mitchell. Sheila’s sister Jackie, brother Dennis, sister-in-law Margaret and brother-in-law Vin are saddened by her passing. They all live in the UK, as do her many nephews, nieces and their children. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for the Vancouver Coastal Health home support workers, for their love, caring and compassion for Sheila over the last four years. A celebration for Sheila will be held at Westview Baptist Church on Saturday, 17 September, at 1 pm.
