Sheila Dawn Mclean
January 5, 1962 - June 8, 2013
Tribute
Dawn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away at the age of 51 in Powell River, BC. She worked at Vancouver Island University for 11 years teaching English and computer skills as well as running the writing centre. She was also chair of Adult Basic Education and truly enjoyed her job as instructor and helping her students.
Dawn is survived by her daughter Simone Kutz, son John Kutz, father Edward McLean, stepmother Diane McLean, sister Maureen (Rob) Mackey, stepsister Debbie (Chris) Lillies, nephew Callum, nieces Leah and Kaylee and her mother Shirley Neven.
A special thank you to doctors Hoffert and Bonsor and the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Powell River General Hospital for their phenomenal care.
Dawn will be remembered for her vibrant personality, sense of humour and passion for education.

I am so sorry to all of Dawn’s friends and families. She was a super lady, lots of fun and life. She is gone much too soon, but I am the better for having known her.

Dawn was a fantastic English teacher and we shared many laughs together:-) I was very sad to hear of her passing, my thoughts are with her family.

Dawn and I went to highschool and university together. We were close friends, I was honoured to be in her wedding party. We also worked together at the Film Factory and enjoyed photography and school band. She was a wonderful person. She always had a smile on her face. She could not have been a better friend to me. I am sorry that our paths diverged and we lost touch. I will cherish the memories.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences go to her family and friends.
