Shirley Jean Houle
January 12, 1943 - August 31, 2026
Tribute
It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Houle announces that on August 31, 2026, Shirley passed away at qathet General Hospital.
She was born in Vancouver to Muriel and Ted and, due to the war, lived with her beloved granny and grandpa. She had four siblings: Arlene (Alan), Larry (Jackie), Gordon (Marlene) and Lorraine.
In 1964, she married Leon Houle (who passed away in May of 2011). She had three children: Brian, Michelle (Chris) and Denise (Terry); three grandchildren: Alexa (Joel), Talia (Trevor) and Gavin (Shiann); and great-grandchildren Stetson, Falynn, Preston and (expecting).
Shirley was passionate about quilting (Timberlane Quilters Guild) and she filled her home with love, warmth, kindness and lots of colour.
Shirley babysat at the Baptist church and helped raise several decades of children. We will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband Leon, her parents Muriel and Ted, and her brother Gordon.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that you take your family out for ice cream and think of her fondly.
