Tribute
Stan passed away in the early morning of September 5 at the age of 96. He is survived by his three children Lorna Harvey of Vancouver, Ellen Eckstrand of Victoria, David of Powell River and his three granddaughters.
Stan was born in Tavistock, Devonshire, England and came to Canada at the age of nine. He married Margaret Crump in Vancouver on October 4, 1941 and moved to Powell River after the war. He was a member of the Canadian Navy during the war and worked in the steam plant at the mill retiring in 1981.
His family wish to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Evergreen Extended Care Unit and Powell River General Hospital.

It was with sadness that we have discovered the death of Stan at the wonderful age of 96. We knew Stan as a member of the former St. David’s Anglican Church in Powell River and shared many personal times with him. We share our condolences with his family and hope that the Funeral Service was very much a tribute to a very kind and thoughtful man. May he rest in peace, and rise in glory.
