Sylvia Elizabeth Bruce

Tribute
It is with sadness that I announce the passing of Sylvia, who fought a short battle with cancer after a long, healthy life. She was a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and friend. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Garfield “Gar” and will be missed by her son Ted Nielly, three grandchildren Michael, Kathleen and Reneé, and four great-grandchildren Nicole, Lauren, Ryan and Darren.
Sylvia was born in Welland, Ontario and was active in raising funds for the Elks, the Canadian Heart & Stroke Association and many other groups in Powell River.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no ceremony and in lieu of flowers, she would ask to have donations made in her name to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of her many friends and to thank the excellent medical staff at Powell River General Hospital for their support and assistance in making her last days as comfortable as possible.
