Relation: Co-workers
Tom was a great co-worker and friend who made everyone feel welcome. My years at the Powell River News/Town Crier were special, in part because Tom was there. I learned a lot from Tom, not only about newspaper production, but how to be a good person.

Relation: Very good friend
Frank and I worked with The Junior Forest Wardens for years, under the tutorship of Verna Erickson. He was a really great guy to work with, and like me, he was associated with the printing business — him as vocation and me as an early life helper to my dad who was a printer. I worked in three different printing offices in my life — my dads, my dads friend who purchased his shop; and a small shop in Seattle during my college years at the University of Idaho — my folks had by that time moved to Seattle, and Dad worked in the Post Intelligencer. We had lots of stories to relate about presses and near death experiences near them–and on and on.
Frank was an avid fisherman. Whenever we had the kids out at some Jr. Forest Warden even, Tom seemed to find a way to show up with a great catch of fish. Stories around the campfire were epic and wonderful. We managed over the years to take the kids to regional campouts at Evans Lake, Provincial campouts in the Okanagan and National campouts in Alberta (and along the way). We did not see alot of each other at other times, but I always considered him a dear friend.
I hope that the trout stream in heaven is open for season and that Frank will teach the newbies the tricks of how to lure a lunker into your creel. My condolences go out to Barb and the rest of the family for the lost of such a family oriented husband, father, uncle and confidant. Rest well, my friend–you have earned it. It was a pleasure working with you

I grew up knowing this kind friendly man. Tom was a wonderful neighbor and amazing father to this boys, adored Barb with all his heart. I had the privilege of working with Tom at the Powell River News for 6 years prior to its closing. It has been wonderful to catch up again at the Complex where I now work. Every morning we had a little chat, caught up with the kids and grandchildren…. This brings me so much sadness… A truly kind man is gone…. I send my love to Barb and the boys…
