Tribute
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the sudden loss of Wade Matthew Larson. Wade never met a person he didn’t like. He was intensely passionate about lifting people up and reminding everyone they were worthy and valued. He believed above all else kindness was the key to happiness within. Wade will always be remembered by his brilliant smile, his infectious laughter, and his ability to see goodness in all things and all people. Wade’s greatest source of love and pride is his beautiful daughter Bree. His smile was always brightest when he spoke about her. Wade was passionate about many things, but nothing more so than playing ball. He was a bit of a slo-pitch tramp in fact. He couldn’t say no to any request to play his favourite sport. As with everything, he showed up with the biggest heart and the best smile. He extended that passion to hockey and basketball as well. We will not be having a service at this time. Plans to celebrate his life will be held at a later date this coming summer at the place he loved most. Up the lake. On behalf of our family, we would like to acknowledge the stigma of mental health issues that many of us struggle with, within our communities. There is no shame in asking for help. There are resources and support available. If you or anyone you know is having thoughts of suicide call: 1.800.784.2433 or 1.800.SUICIDE. This helpline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week anywhere in BC. If you are in need of support call: 310-Mental Health at 310.6789 (no area code required) anytime night or day. Help is available. They are there to listen and they are there to help. The last two years have been difficult for most of us in various ways. Covid restrictions had made it very challenging for Wade as it restricted his ability to be an active participant in sports and events that were integral for his mental health. It was isolating. Wade recently became involved with the Freedom Convoy and this helped him become part of something he was passionate about. It brought him so much joy to come together with people who shared his beliefs and his values. We thank them for giving Wade this platform. Mental Health Matters We are deeply aware of how important it was to Wade that he lift others up and celebrate their goodness and their light from within. Wade placed all his value in trying to help others. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Wade, we are listening.
