Margaret Birmingham Cousins

Tribute
It is with great sadness that Margaret's family announces her passing after a brief struggle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and May Cousins and leaves behind daughters Sheila Tracey and Janet Robertson, son Scott (Marie) Robertson, grandchildren Geoff, Drew, Adam and Claire, brother Douglas (Janis) Cousins, sister Anne (Barry) Boyd, three nieces and two nephews.
Margaret arrived in Powell River from Glasgow, Scotland in March 1948 with her mother and brother to join her father who had arrived the year before. Margaret was well-known for her community involvement and served for six years as an elected member of the Powell River Board of Education. She enthusiastically supported programs and projects for persons with special needs through Powell River Association for Community Living. She was actively involved with the Royal Canadian Legion's charities and social activities, and volunteered at many other community events.
The family would like to thank Powell River General Hospital fourth floor nurses for their care during the time Margaret was a patient.
A celebration of life was held at Powell River Legion on Saturday, October 5. Thank you to the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Legion for all their help.
