Gary Nathan Sharpe

September 7, 1959 - April 20, 2014

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden
passing of Gary Nathan Sharpe on April 20, 2014 at Powell River Hospital.
Predeceased by his father George Sharpe in 1996. Survived by his mother
Virtue Sharpe (St. Phillip's, Newfoundland), sisters Daphne Sharpe
(Campbell River, BC), Sophie Sharpe (Jerry)(Elgin, Ontario), daughters
Ashley (Mike) Noseworthy (St. Phillip's, Nfld) and Brandea Sharpe
(Powell River, BC). Many relatives and friends from coast to coast.
Gary was loved and full of fun and had a joke for everyone that he met.
He was always there to lend a helping hand or cook a fabulous meal with
a “no problem buddy attitude”.
Gary joined the navy at a very young age and spent a few years serving
his country. He traveled to Yellowknife NWT and worked in a gold mine.
In 1989 he moved with his family to Powell River and spent the rest of
his life there. Gary will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Rest in
peace “Sharpie” till we all meet again.

His cremated remains will be intered in the family plot in Newfoundland in July at a graveside service attended by his east coast family.

To: Virtue Daphne Sophie Ashley Brandae and all other family and friends.
Gary was a very dear friend to both of us. We loved him and we are so sad.
Over the past week, we talked about the wonderful Yellowknife years when we were all like one big family. Those were special times and we cherish all the memories.
There was no one like Gary, from his laugh to his kindness.
He will live in our hearts forever and because he gave me some of his best recipes, he will live in our kitchen forever.
