Tribute

Wally passed away at age 92 at Evergreen Care Unit with his wife Ruth and four children by his side. He was born in Auchterdarren, County of Fife, Scotland, to
George and Margaret Henderson and is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Ruth, three daughters Lynda Willis (Brian), Margaret McNeill (Jim), Heather Parsons (Mike), son Richard, brother Scotty (Marion) and sisters-in-law Sylvia and Pollyanna.

Wally was a kind and gentle soul and much loved by his 11 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with and watching all his grandchildren play sports. He loved the great outdoors and his dogs.

Wally worked at the mill for 42 years on the rigging crew and as a crane operator. He loved his big machine.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 17, at Living Water Foursquare Church, 4640 Manson Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Powell River Hospital Foundation for the Evergreen Extended Care palliative care room in memory of Wally. His family was so appreciative to have this room.

Wally would like to say to the nursing and care staff at Evergreen Care Unit, “I love you.”
