Tribute

After a long, long challenging struggle with dementia, Ron passed away in Berkley Care Centre in North Vancouver with his loving wife Margaret at his side.

Ron was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, eldest of four siblings.  He was predeceased by his parents, his son Mark and his brother Gerry.

He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by Margaret, his sons Mike and Gord, his stepdaughter Sharon Justinen, stepson Ryan Soprovich and all their families, as well as by the family of Mark.  He will also be remembered by his sister Suzanna, brother Bruce, their families and the family of Gerry.

A private family gathering will be held later in November to share memories and stories uniquely Ron – about his Charlie Brown Christmas trees, gardening competitions, serious sport card collection, back yard swimming pool fun, his famous and numerous collection of fish and fish tanks, the ups and downs of the Jays and Canucks and more….

Ron just loved babies and would have been delighted to have held his first great grandchild.  Hope you had a ringside seat when she arrived on Friday, October 22nd!!

A very special thank you to Dr. Chris Morwood, locally, and to Francoise and all the exceptional staff who became Ron’s away-from-home family in the Cypress Cove Unit at Berkley during his six years there.

Finally, finally resting in the love and peace of Jesus.
