Beverly Isobel Bernard

April 24, 1927 - January 10, 2021

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our mom, nana, gigi and treasured friend.

Born in Powell River to Carl and Vera Gaudet, Bev is survived by her daughter Marie Malcolm (John), sons Phillip (Marjory) and Peter (Leslie), daughter Monica Lundgren (Rick), 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister in law Joyce Gaudet, numerous relatives
across Canada as well as the Sheahans, who became like family to her.

After graduating from high school, Bev worked during the war at the Powell River mill. She also worked for the Sun newspaper in Vancouver and did a year stint in Winnipeg. She then returned to Powell River and in 1952 married Tim, where she stayed and raised her family. For many years, Bev was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League, the Assumption Parent Teacher
Association and helped weekly at the Knights of Columbus bingo. Bev supplied many a beautiful item for her parish bazaar. She was a strong and independent woman who loved to joke, laugh and sing. She definitely was one of a kind.  Playing bingo, bridge and cards were her great entertainment.  Bev’s after church coffee bunch and bridge partners were very special to her. She
delighted in family and loved sewing and knitting for all the people in her life. For the last several years, Bev lived in a lovely apartment in Kiwanis Manor where she was treated royally by the staff. It was a very sad day when she had to move out. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Evergreen Extended Care Unit.

We would like to thank the many people who helped and became great friends to Mom over the years, especially Mary Murphy and her hairdresser, Lillian.

She was predeceased by her husband Tim, son Grant and granddaughter Nicole, as well as her
brothers Reginald, Bernard and Dyson, and sister Maureen. Mom is together again with Dad and will be forever in our hearts and truly missed.

Because of the provincial restrictions, an intimate family Catholic service will be held. We
hope to have a celebration of life for mom when we are able
