Grace Irene Taylor

June 13, 1946 - February 14, 2013

Tribute

Grace passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2013. She died as she lived her life, on her own terms, with dignity, serenity, humility, the courage of her convictions, and in harmony with her relationships.

Gracie grew up on the family farm near Hearne, SK. She graduated from the Grey Nuns nursing program in 1967 and continued nursing until her retirement in 2006 when she moved to Powell River. During the past 15 years, Grace devoted all of her spare time to painting beautiful works of art in her studio. She was an active member of Artique Artists Co-operative.

She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Anna May Akins and twin brother Garry. Left to grieve for the loss of this beautiful, caring person are her husband Victor, son Rob (Tania), daughter Jennifer (Locky Miller), grandchildren Jack, Abby and Jordan, mother-in-law Ruth Taylor, brother Dale (Wendy) Akins, numerous relatives of the Akins and Daniel families and many close friends scattered across the country.

Celebrations of Gracie's life will be arranged in the spring in Powell River and in Hearne where she will be interred near her family farm. Her memory will endure through her art and be celebrated each St. Valentine's Day.
