Margaret (Peggy) Atkinson

Tribute
Peggy, a long-time resident of Gillies Bay, died at Olive Devaud Residence in Powell River on Thanksgiving Day. She was always an active member of any community where she lived. Peggy belonged to the United Church, Royal Canadian Legion and OAPO (seniors’ club). She enjoyed the Friday luncheons, bingo, darts, bowling, fishing and gardening. Music, especially singing, was always a very important part of her life.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Albert, her son Richard (Dick), daughter-in-law Joan and 11 sisters and brothers. She leaves behind her daughter Barbara, son-in-law John Makarchuk and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She will be missed.

Peggy became a dear friend to me when we all lived on Seventh Avenue in North Bay,Ontario, in the ’60’s
‘Twas wonderful to be invited to her one hundredth birthday party and to meet her friends and church family.
FYI.. My Mom was her first teacher when she came to Canada.
Barb and John……….you will miss her….she was a great person!
