Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother. Marie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Hans, her three daughters Helena (John), Rita (Eirian) and Jana, six precious grandchildren Esme, Gitte, Emma, Nathan, Ben and Kirsten. She is also survived by one brother Frederik (Solvieg), numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in California and Denmark.

Marie was born and raised in Bramdrup, Denmark. The first of six children she immigrated to Canada in 1958 where she and Hans were married and settled to raise a family. Marie was a very loving and nurturing person, with a beautiful personality and was truly dedicated to her family. She was a very creative woman, a talented knitter and lovingly kept both her children and grandchildren in warm sweaters and socks. She loved to garden and inspired a green thumb in all of us.

Marie passed away peacefully in her home with all her family by her side and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
