Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Steve was the first of four generations born in Powell River. He met his wife Marge in Edmonton and brought her back to Powell River to raise their family. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours exploring and working outside. He worked as a millwright for 13 years in the Powell River mill and then ventured off to start his own business in trucking. This business took him throughout the province that he loved to explore and meet new people. He also loved to run machinery and was most often found, when not working, landscaping and playing in his gravel pit or on his property which was his favourite pastime. He was very proud of his family and spent many hours holding the babies who found great comfort in his arms. He also loved to take the family along for rides in his gravel trucks.

Steve was predeceased by his parents Bud and Gladys and his brother Larry. He leaves behind his wife Marjorie, daughters Carol (George) Ferreira and Faye Fogarty, grandchildren Sherri, Andrea (Andrew), Tanya (Nick), Drew, Nici, Bronte and Ferin and great-grandchildren Kamden, Carter, Mataya, Landon and Grayson. He also leaves behind his sister Doreen (Danny) and brother Bud (Claire), many loved nieces and nephews and special friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rossouw, Dr. Hoffert, fourth floor nurses and the ambulance attendants for Dad’s excellent care and comfort. We’d also like to thank our friends and family who showed so much compassion during this time.

There will be a celebration for friends and family to be held at a later date.

Dad, we miss you so much already and hope that you are enjoying all the treasures of heaven.
