Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda Astells. She is survived by loving partner, Roy Gladue; children, Vicki (Bob), Rob and Brandon; grandchildren Raymond, Matthew, Emily and Jacob; brother, Bob Verdiel; nephews, Mike and Gary Verdiel; nieces, Sherry Ruedig and Debbi (Randy) Salmond. Also survived by Terry Astells. Wanda was well know in the Powell River community; she worked with PRACL for many years, she will be dearly missed by all. There will be a service held at 1:00pm on March 28th from the Stubberfield Chapel, 7221 Duncan Street. If you wish to express your condolences to the family please visit, www.stubberfieldfh.com.

I find it hard to believe that my best friend is gone. I have known her my whole life at times I thought we were joined at the hip. She was a loving and wonderful mother and shared her children with me. She loved life and her life was her children and grandchildren. My heart and love goes out to Little Vicki, Robby and Brandon and the grandkids and family. She was a wonderful woman who deserved only the best. Rest in Peace my loving friend. Love Dolly

Wanda was highly skilled and compassionate and loved by all who knew her. Over the years, Wanda gently introduced many new staff to the work she did so well,. She maintained strong connections with the people in her care, her co-workers, friends and family. I will miss her and treasure the many precious memories of her.
